| .x.the tall pine
An enormous and ancient pine tree stands rooted in the center of a clearing covered in dead needles. Thick shrubbery covers the area from view, making it a perfect hide-away. The tree itself has split at the base, and its roots are parted to create a den inside the tree.

A short distance away from the riverbed lies a massive stone boulder protruding from the earth. Its sides are scarred and have been marked and claimed by wolves many times. The area around the giant stone would make an excellent camp.

| .x.dried riverbed
The natural forest path veers away from the dark and gloomy trees and leads to a dried up riverbed. The riverbank is almost completely vertical, making it tricky to descend into the bed itself. Clay and other types of soil line the dead river and rocks are abundant, ready to be stepped on by an unwary paw. This is a popular place for human trappers to place their trapline, so be cautious.

Almost to the point of the dark heart of the forest a clump of ferns grow. The soft fronds are a favorite for bedding and wolf pups often like to play in the dense brush. The ferns themselves are young and green, with new sprouts shooting up everyday in the muffled sunlight.

Deeper into the forest lies a darkened meadow surrounded by pines, firs, and evergreens. The meadow is pale green and is rather small; a soft blanket of grass in miles of scratchy undergrowth. This is the true heart of the forest, with a small clump of roses in the center of the spread, straining for light in the dappled darkness. Although the meadow is beautiful, the real beauty is the area itself. The trees cover most of the canopy, blocking sunlight off and cloaking the forest in a dim glow. An ever-present mist floats lazily about swathing the entrie woodland in fog.

Far, far away an abandoned castle sits regally on the tree-line, it's stone bricks crumbling. This legendary place was the welping den of the treasured Larka. The castle itself is unsafe and may come down at any moment, making it an ideal camp for wary wolves who are looking for easy protection.

Down a ridge that sits almost under the abandoned castle lies a village of...them. Man; the creature every Lera fears lives here beneath the birth place of dear Larka! Men are seen often by the wolves making weapons and armor.

| .x.thin-air peak
The tree-line ends here. Thin-air peak is a deadly but accurate look-out or sentry position for the mountain travelers. The air grows thin as you journey up the mountain, and this peak is almost deadly. Even though thin-air peak is only at the tree-line, it still seems to suck the breath out of Lera's lungs.

Gray stone juts out strongly from the side of the mountain, daring the craggy precipice to drop onto the castle below. This wide stone circle is large, and Kerls often stage fights here for sport. Occasionally pieces of the mountain above tumble down onto the smooth stone cracking it and scarring it.

The stone citadel overlooks the abandoned castle below it, casting its shadow onto the the structure often distorting and twisting the shadow of the castle until the shape is unrecognizable. The citadel was left by the same Men who built the castle and live in the man village. Though they have moved on long ago this stoney fortress holds a sense of mystery with a tang of fear; this is where Larka died.
